Biography
Dr. Martha Mathews Libster, Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and recipient of the 2005 Lavinia Dock Award for Excellence in Research and Writing for her book Herbal Diplomats, specializes in the history of 19th century women and nurses, cultural and religious history, oral history, and the history of botanical medicine. Dr. Libster advances histories that record our humanity, heal ignorance, guide identity development, and inspire compassion. In 2019, she became the steward of the Anita Atkins Archive and Publications including the classic history H.P.B.
