Biography
Andrea Biasca-Caroni was born in Locarno, Switzerland, in 1971. He met Greta at high school and they married in 1999. After graduating from Liceo Linguistico in Lugano, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in business economics of Hospitality Management and the Diploma “ES” Degree (École Supérieure-Master degree) at the Hotel Management School in Geneva. Since 1999 he is Director of the family-owned hotel for three generations, Hotel Ascona, a hotel and Seminar Center linked to the history of the utopian community of Monte Verità (Mont of Truth) at the turn of the century. He has been the founding President of international cultural events for more than two decades. In 2008, together with his wife Greta interior designer, he founded ‘L’officina Home interiors’, an interior architecture firm. Since 2014, he is the Presidential Agent of the Swiss Theosophical Society. He has published articles and lectured for the Theosophical Society and created the Art and Theosophy website: www.theosophyart.org In December 2016 Andrea and Greta bought the house that had belonged to Luigi Pericle (1916–2001) in Ascona on the slopes of Monte Verità, as their home, and discovered thousands of works of art. In 2019, Andrea and Greta founded the non-profit association Archivio Luigi Pericle, of which he is president. International publishing houses such as Silvana Editoriale, Scheidegger & Spiess, and Paul Holberton Publishing have published his essays. In 2022, he edits the book “Luigi Pericle. The Rediscovered Master” published by Nino Aragno Editore for the Turin International Book Fair and presented to the public at BookCity Milano. As president of the Archivio Luigi Pericle, he has lectured at numerous cultural institutions such as the Warburg Institute, the Royal Drawings School and the Ca’ Foscari University.
